Week 2 is Off and Running
Hi EdmoNation,
So, after a really successful Week 1, we’ve started week 2 with a bang. This is Gizmos and Gadgets week for the Art & Science kids and Clay-toons week for the Animation kids. We’ve got a big camp this week; 55 campers total, so the energy is high and the Vibe is exciting. We have a really strong staff this year; I’ve got a lot of confidence in these guys, and the kids are quickly becoming enamored with them. I remember when I was a kid at Berkeley Tuolumne Camp; the camp counselors were my heroes! I’m thrilled that we have such great role models this year; Eleanor, Kate, Amanda, Andrew, Nico, Lani, and three really hard-working Counselors-in-Training: Amy, Karen, and Renee.
Anyhow, it’s late, I’m heading out. I’ll try to add photos tomorrow. Mondays are always pretty busy as groups are settling into place and I’m sorting through the papers and rosters. Tomorrow I can start to really enjoy it, and I’ll be sure to share it all with you!
Yours,
Phil
Camp Director Training!
We’re in the Edmo bunker, located 200 feet underground at an undisclosed San Francisco neighborhood, in a dark room squeezed between our classified Edmo Science Laboratories and

the Official Edmo Intelligence Bureau. Down a dark corridor of stone, perhaps a half mile away, is our new Edmo Animation Laboratory, where Edmo Agents in white coats spend 20 hours a day, meticulously developing the latest animation technologies. Nextdoor in the Edmo Science Laboratories, our Super Science Technicians are carefully stirring massive vats of oobleck, while the Fantastic Flyer Engineers are perfecting the aeronautics on the flyers for this summer. Here in the Sealed and Classified Edmo Camp Director Training Center, where the tall stone ceilings and walls are dimly lit by torches, and groundwater drips from the cracks in the bedrock, the Camp Directors are in day 862 of our rigorous training. We’re now in hour 21 today, and my eyes grow heavy. I’m signing out for now; I’ll try to post again soon, if ever there is a break in our training. After all, the Central Bureau of Camp Director Excellence wants to be absolutely certain that we deliver the best summer camp program!
