Hey out there in blog land! We had such a great day at SFPH that I have to share some of the goodness with you! Today was Smile Day and it was a huge success! The kids practiced acts of kindness promoted by our stellar staff! It was also parachute day during Recreation Time and the campers had a blast! (So did the staff!!)

What a day! We had some wild and windy weather but we didn’t let it take our Edmo Spirit away!

I’m SO excited for this summer to start! The staff this summer at Camp Edmo Presidio Heights are the biggest bunch of superstars I’ve ever worked with and we all cannot WAIT for the camp season to begin! The themes this year (Super Spy, Underwater Wonders, and Cosmic Creations!) are filled with outstanding activities that are going to keep the campers excited and engaged all summer long! I can’t wait to get started with another great summer at Presidio Heights!

Hello! My name is Ali Whitehurst, and as some of you know, I am the new director of the Presidio Heights location and I certainly have that Edmo vibe! This week has been fantastic! I’ve really been enjoying watching the campers learning all about how things fly and then making beautiful creations that actually do!! From blimps to parachutes to kites and good ol’ fashioned paper airplanes, there isn’t a place in camp without something flying and everyone underneath it knowing why! We have been having so much fun this week it dawned on me that it’s already Thursday!!  What happened to our week? Below is the Mutant Mechanical Fish as they work on their excellent jitterbots!  

This week we had an especially fun time this week playing Sharks and Lifeguards. Check it out!

It was a pleasure to witness all the creativity that came from the EdTech campers yesterday as I watched them shoot the raw footage for their main movie yesterday. There were set changes, costume changes, voiceovers and a lot of kids yelling “Quiet on the Set!” Here are a couple photos I snapped pre-production as they were working on their storyboards. Go Ed Tech!

Wow! Camp Edmo SFPH has had an AWEsome (yup, I said it!) first couple days. The weather has been great, our new site is incredible and all the returners have been making our first week one of my favorite camp weeks ever! We are counting the days till camp starts and can’t wait to see all of you! We’ve got so many fun things planned for this summer!! See you soon!

Last friday, I, along with my lovely co-director Melanie, went on a walk-through of Claire Lilienthal Madison campus, our site! Seeing where the fun will happen made these next few weeks seem to go by even slower!  We have so many amazing resources at our disposal at our “home” for the summer!  I can’t wait to meet all of you and show you all of the cool things we have going on. Also, come with your thinking hats on, because we love creativity and creating new traditions, the wackier the better! See you soon! - Ali
