Your Child…will be greeted enthusiastically by camp staff will complete Art, Science or Animation projects designed in partnership with the leading Bay Area childrens’ museums. will learn or strengthen at least one new art, science or animation concept each week. will play an organized recreation game designed to build leadership, cooperation or teamwork skills every day. will be invited to participate in our Superstar Program designed to build life skills and practice goal-setting (for 1st-5th grade campers only). will be assigned one Lead Counselor who stays with the group throughout the day and the entire week (barring unforeseen illness or circumstances). will be given a “Give Me More” sheet every day that summarizes the day’s activities & provides additional resources for you to foster their curiosity. will receive an invitation to at least one exclusive Edmo Member event with an industry-leading partner each calendar year. |
Your Camp Director…will be a college graduate selected because this job furthers their personal and professional development goals. will complete over 100 hours of management training and development prior to camp. Note: Most go on to become school administrators, child psychologists, teachers, program directors and other youth-focused professionals. Your Instructors…will be college graduates or students pursuing advanced studies related to our activities. Each will exhibit a “contagious enthusiasm” for learning and teaching. will receive up to 20 hours of on-site museum training and classroom management skills. Your Counselors…will be primarily college students (and in rare cases high-achieving high schoolers) who exhibit enthusiasm, maturity and genuine interest in the well being and development of your child. will receive 16-20 hours of training including positive reinforcement techniques, behavior management, team building exercises, leadership skills, child development stages and more. Note: Less than 10% of applicants are offered a position with Camp Edmo each year. |
Parents…will be given clear safety instructions in their Welcome Packet prior to camp. Instructions will include the Camp Director’s cell phone, safe drop-off/pick-up procedures, our Nut-Free Campus policy, safe clothing and accessories kids should bring to camp. will receive same-day notification if your child sustains any form of physical injury or a significant emotional injury. will be called if your child does not show up for camp in the morning without prior notification. You will be notified within 15 minutes if your child sustains any form of head injury. Our Staff…will be aware of a severe allergy noted on you child’s Health History & Emergency Contact form. will only release your child to adults specifically named as an “Authorized Pick Up” person on your Health History & Emergency Contact form. will include at least one CPR & First Aid Certified staff member on-site at all times. Campers…will be escorted out of your car by a staff member if you are using the “pull-up” drop off or pick up line. will be given staff introductions and clear instructions on camp boundaries, restroom and safety rules on the first morning of camp. will be encouraged to be kind, respectful and encouraging of others. No bullying or name calling are tolerated at camp. will be given water breaks and sunscreen application prior and during outdoor recreation times. |

Camp Directors will respond to verbal or written parental concerns within 24 hours and schedule an Action Plan meeting to improve your camp experience.
