Ed Caballero – Executive Director

As Executive Director I oversee curriculum development, museum partnerships, our school year in-class science program, development & grants programs, creative content for brochure and website, strategic business partnerships and local community events. I also take on the very serious roles of camp song inventor, weekly theme name creator and button contest judge.

My favorite Camp Edmo memory is…visiting all the camp sites during the summer and leading a round of a-boom-chick-a-boom

 

Sharon Mor – Executive Director

My role here is to provide space for people to shine and be their absolute best! From creating reliable and effective systems to pushing the staff to become more expressed and whole versions of themselves, this job continues to be fulfilling in a deep and profound way. It is an honor to lead an organization such as ours mainly because I’m in awe of the people who make up our team!

My favorite Camp Edmo memory is…Debriefing with our first ever staff of Camp Directors and hearing our staff say, “Wow! I accomplished things this summer that I didn’t know I could! I walk away from here knowing so much more about myself and can feel the spring in my step!”

When I’m not working at Edventure More…I am life coaching, taking a yoga class, dancing, and spending time with family.

Eva Vander Giessen – Development Programs Manager

I connect Edventure More with people who are inspired by our story to give time, money or resources. Then I get to

translate all these awesome resources into our Campership Program, member events like our Film Festival, and new

programs like Edmobile. I write grants, communicate with our stellar Parent Advisory Committee, and forge new partnerships with local organizations who are all about fun, hands-on enrichment. My most important role, though, is that of Professional High-Fiver and creator of silly YouTube videos.

My favorite Camp Edmo memory is…Giving 30 families the good news that they got camperships for Edmobile – and seeing pictures of the first hike the kids had ever taken!

When I’m not working at Edventure More I…dance my socks off, backpack in the Sierras, and perform Playback Theater. I also can be found muttering Dari to myself to prepare for a trip to the Middle East.

Sara Statler – Outreach Programs  Administrator

As the Outreach Programs Administrator I coordinate events and activities that take place in the community. I manage our school year In-Class Enhancement Program (ICE), organize field marketing campaigns, coordinate community events and handle donations to auctions. I’m hard to miss at Edmo; I may have been your Camp Director, you might have chatted with me on the phone, seen me in a classroom or met me at a community event. I’m also know around the office for my sharp wit and silly antics. Thank goodness for summer camp!

My favorite Camp Edmo memory is…My favorite Edmo moment (it’s very hard to choose), was last summer at our Noe Valley camp. I had made up a fake animal while traveling through South America called a bllama; half bat, half llama (inspired by amazing llama beanies we found high in the Andes). One day at camp, while wearing my hat, a camper asked, “What kind of animal are you?” and of course I replied, “The elusive bllama.”  From then on, the bllama become a staple at Edmo NV. The kids loved it. On one of our super hero dress up days I was Super Bllama and in extended care the campers were chasing me, trying to catch the elusive bllama. I had to go take care of some administrative business and when I returned to the yard, I had 15 campers waiting at the door with hola hoops, ready to catch me. They even made their parents wait so they could “get me.” It still makes me smile. I LOVE MY EDMO CAMPERS!

When I’m not at Edventute More… When I’m not at Edventure More I like to sing, ride my bike, dive into clear pools, travel to new places, make people laugh, get out there ‘n dance, listen to NPR, hang with my family, explore the Bay Area, make granola and day dream.

Nick Lyons – HR/Recruiting and Systems Administrator

I focus on hand picking the best staff any camp has to offer, managing and creating the systems we have in place, and keep in close contact with all of our parents via emails, newsletters, and special announcements.  Each week I have the opportunity to work closely with Sharon to compound on our systems, create new organizational aspects to Edventure More, and brainstorm HR/Recruiting ideas while maintaining a high level of integrity and creativity in my position.

My favorite Camp Edmo memory is…My summer working at Edventure Tech is my favorite  memory.  I enjoyed my staff and how we all seemed to compliment each other so well – trust is key to any successful venture, and we were able to enjoy that.  Each day the campers brought so much energy and passion to their projects it was hard not to get as excited as they were.  Plus water days were EPIC!

When I’m not working at Edventure More…I enjoy spending time with my friends, but most importantly my amazing family.  I also enjoy physical activities such as rowing, running, cycling, kite surfing, snowboarding, and hiking.  When I get the chance I like to escape on an international trip or the occasional long weekend road trip.

 

Elaine Celestan -  Office Manager

What I do within the company… I do a little bit of this and a little bit of that.  I am focused on making the office run smoothly with limited chaos!!!  Pitching in and helping out in all areas of the business and getting the opportunity to personally speak with all of our Edmo families on the phone and via email. 

Why I chose to work at Edventure More!… I was looking for a company with a “heart!”  A place where everyone works hard, but goes home knowing that their efforts are appreciated.  I love making a difference in an organization that loves making a difference in our community!!

When I’m not working at Edventure More I like to… be called Mommy, wifie, auntie and friend!!!  I LOVE being with my family, cooking new recipes, reading, shopping and my favorite… just relaxing!!!!
