Camp Description: Edventure More camps feature fun, hands-on activities for kids entering K-5th grade designed by the Bay Area’s Best kid museums and organizations. Our mission is to make learning at camp so much fun that kids want to continue the curiosity and exploration at home, after school, on the weekends. Our incredible, contagiously enthusiastic and positive staff members are the people who deliver on that mission.

Camp Dates: ~ Most camps start June 14th or 21st and run 6 weeks.

Available Positions:

Camp Director:

We are looking for inspiring leaders to fill our Camp Director position. Camp Directors work sparingly in the spring (5-6 hours per week February-June) to support our recruiting, training and marketing efforts. Beginning in June, Camp Directors work full-time for 6-7 weeks. During this time they are responsible for:

  • Creating a positive team dynamic amongst all the Instructors and Guides
  • Instilling the Camp Edmo “vibe” of kindness, respect, honesty and of course FUN in all the campers
  • Managing all the daily operations of camp (sign-in, sign out, staffing issues, smooth classroom rotations, etc)
  • Handling all customer service issues in a friendly and professional manner
  • Support Instructors when needed in the classrooms

Qualifications: Candidates must be college graduates and have proven program management skills. They must also have strong interpersonal skills to work with kids, teachers, and parents and be excellent multi-taskers. Ideal candidates have school year employment and summers free. Several years of experience working with children are required. Previous camp experience is a plus.

Salary: Year one approx: $6920-$7380. Year 2 approx: $8,470-$8,940.00 Year 3 approx: $10,000-$10,460

Hours: You’re the first one to arrive and the last to leave. (Approx. 7:30am-6pm, Mon-Friday)

Art and Science Instructor:

We are looking for energetic, creative, and fun Art and Science instructors with flexible teaching methods who can lead our incredible art and science curriculum. Instructors can be credentialed teachers, or college graduates with experience in the related fields. Graduate students may apply. We encourage tons of positive reinforcement to build confidence and self esteem as well as natural love for learning. This is an exciting opportunity for someone who wants to impact kids and encourage their passion and interests in the fields of Art and Science. The Art/Science Instructor will be expected to teach a variety of different eras, mediums and cultures and will have room to refine the curriculum and add their own personal contributions as well. The Art/Science Instructor will also work closely with the Camp Director, Lead Counselors and other Instructors to create fun camp games, songs, skits, activities, arts and crafts, and book guest performers. The Art/Science Instructor will be both Instructor and ‘buddy’ to campers – Instructors eat lunch with campers, perform skits and build positive role model relationships with kids.

Qualifications: Must have significant and diverse experience in your field and be contagiously passionate about art/science. Experience in teaching and working with kids is a huge plus. Previous camp experience preferred.

Salary: $450-550 per week DOE

Hours: 8am-4pm, Monday-Friday

Animation Instructor:

We are looking for fun Animation Instructors with experience leading youth programs to teach our stopmotion Animation courses. Instructors can be credentialed teachers, OR college graduates with experience in the related fields. Graduate students may apply. We encourage tons of positive reinforcement to build confidence and self esteem as well as natural love for learning. This is an exciting opportunity for someone who wants to impact kids and encourage their passion and interests in the field of Digital Arts Media. The Animation Instructors will be trained by our partner organizations on how to lead Clay Animation, however, they will be expected come in with a working knowledge of the software required to complete camper projects. All Instructors also work closely with the Camp Director and Lead Counselors and to create fun camp games, songs, skits, activities, arts and crafts, and book guest performers.

Qualifications: Must have significant and diverse experience in your field. Must be contagiously enthusiastic about digital arts media. Familiar with istopmotion, imovie, Stopmotion Pro, Adobe Photoshop, Apple or PC computers, digital cameras, microphones, etc. Experience in teaching kids in the respective mediums is a HUGE plus. Previous camp experience preferred.

Salary: $450-600 per week DOE

Counselor:

We are looking for energetic, creative, and outgoing high school seniors or college students who love working with kids and have an interest in arts and science. This is an exciting opportunity for someone who wants to have a positive impact on kids and professionally develop themselves in a fun academic environment! Counselors will be responsible for helping lead groups of 10-16 kids throughout the day’s science, fine arts and recreation activities. Counselors support Instructors during the hands-on art and science classroom activities. Counselors will also work closely with the Camp Directors and Instructors to create fun camp games, songs, skits, activities, arts and crafts and more. Counselors are key to building a positive group dynamic among the kids and instilling the camp values of cooperation, trust, honesty and respect.

Qualifications: Preferably a college student. Must be at least a Junior in high school to apply. All candidates must be responsible, fun-loving, outgoing, personable, a good role model, have a strong academic standing, and love working with kids. Previous camp experience preferred.

Hours: 8:00am-4:00pm, Monday-Friday

Salary: $350-400 per week DOE

Counselor in Training (CIT):

We are looking for energetic, creative, outgoing and responsible high school students and middle school students that love working with kids and have an interest in arts, science and recreation. This is an exciting opportunity for someone who wants to make a positive impact in kids’ lives while professionally developing in an educational and camp environment. CIT’s will be responsible for helping Lead Counselors get kids excited to learn about science, fine arts and themselves through fun, hands-on activities. CIT’s will also work closely with the Instructors, Lead Counselors, Camp Director to create fun camp games, songs, activities, arts and crafts and more.

Qualifications: Must be at least currently in 7th grade, high school students preferred, a good role model, have a strong academic standing, love working with kids, responsible, mature, fun-loving, outgoing, and personable. Previous camp experience is a HUGE plus.

Hours: 9am-3pm, Monday-Friday. Two week minimum commitment required. Applicants must also be available for select training dates before camp starts.
